About Us

As veterinarians, we are taught to cure, fight disease, and even win the ‘war’ on cancer. Well, sometimes we need reinforcements to do that, and that’s where Fidu comes in. Our focus is to support veterinarians who are caring for patients with difficult diseases.

Sometimes we just need confirmation that we are on the right path. Other times, we have a case so complex we don’t know what road to even consider.

Fidu’s clients range from experienced practitioners needing a sounding board, to practice rock stars that want to manage cases in house, to new grads working up their first oncology case. Fidu specialists fill the void when the nearest specialist is hours away, clients cannot afford a full specialty hospital workup, or when the needs of the client or patient simply require their regular vet’s care. We serve all veterinarians and are here to guide you as you bring your patients the next level of care.

Fidu veterinarians can help no matter what stage of diagnosis or treatment your patient is in. We have but one purpose: help veterinarians give pets the best care possible.

Fidu is a team of board-certified veterinary specialists, here to help you with your cases via telemedicine (email and web connections). You provide the case information and patient records, and we provide you a personalized plan for the next diagnostic and treatment steps. Ongoing support with a consistent specialist is available, giving you written guidance, custom reports, and better patient outcomes. You deserve support and pets deserve the best possible care. Let us help you achieve both.

We created Fidu with the help of some of the best and brightest minds in veterinary medicine since we believe that only by working within the industry can you truly understand how to serve it best.

In our modern age of “Dr. Google” and the rapid emergence of the telehealth industry, we wanted to support ALL veterinarians who are working diligently to provide their clients and patients with the very best medical care.

Fidu creates an inclusive ecosystem where both general practice veterinarians and boarded specialists can work seamlessly together, in order to provide clients and pets alike with greater accessibility to high-quality medical information and consultation.

We provide ongoing teleconsultations to veterinarians located anywhere, by phone, video, or email, when they are caring for a pet or working up a case that requires a specialist’s medical advice.

We’re excited to partner with qualified veterinarians who wish to work on the cutting-edge of telehealth and the veterinary industry.

In order to become board certified, a licensed veterinarian must complete (in addition to their respective veterinary schooling degree) a minimum of a one-year internship or equivalent, as well as two to three years in a residency program that meets the standards of a recognized specialty college or board.

A veterinarian who successfully meets these requirements and completes an approved residency program and credentialing requirements is then able to sit for the qualifying examination for the college. There are also additional training and caseload requirements that must be met during this residency, and finally, the veterinarian must pass a series of rigorous examinations. Once that examination is successfully passed, the candidate is then officially a Diplomate and are now a board-certified veterinary specialist in their respective field.

Surprisingly, not all veterinarians that refer to themselves as “specialists” have completed this training. Veterinarians that have passed these examinations and completed all requirements become Diplomates of their respective specialty colleges.

All Fidu specialists are Diplomates and have completed this additional training.

In addition, Fidu requires that all Diplomates have a minimum of 5 years of experience post-residency in order to best provide patients and clients with top-tier consultations that combine extensive academic training with proven clinical experience.
