Sue Ettinger, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)

Chief Medical Officer

Hi! I’m Dr. Sue, also known as Dr. Sue Cancer Vet.  I am a practicing veterinary cancer specialist and an international speaker. In 2015, I started speaking regularly at veterinary conferences and had the opportunity to meet more primary care veterinarians. As I talked to more veterinary professionals, they told me of the need for more specialty oncology consultations, but they were difficult to get due to the limited numbers of oncologists. While I love seeing clients and patients one-on-one in my local practice in the metro New York area, I wanted to help more veterinarians, patients, and clients beyond my hometown area.

It’s this insight that inspired Fidu! As a co-founder of Fidu along with my esteemed team, we deeply want to provide teleconsultations with veterinarians. I have proudly provided over 10,000 consults as a boarded specialist working in a specialty practice. I am so excited to bring this experience and help provide oncology and other specialties to veterinary practices.  We hope to increase access to specialty medicine and improve the lives of pets around the country and the world as a result.

I attended Tufts University for my undergraduate degree and then received my veterinary training at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. I completed my residency in medical oncology at the Animal Medical Center in NYC in 2003. In 2019, I was voted the Western Veterinary Conference Small Animal Continuing Educator of the Year. I also love to help clients and veterinary professionals deal with cancer through social media, so I vlog on YouTube regularly and can also be found on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Currently, I live in New York, just north of New York City, with my husband, a veterinary internist, my two sons and my two adorable and inseparable Labradors, Matilda and Penelope.
