Why did you first become a veterinarian?
I love science and working with animals.
What motivates you to go above and beyond basic pet care with the services and approach you provide?
Pets are family, and pet owners should feel informed and empowered to take care of their family members
If I am a first-time referring pcDVMs, what can I expect when consulting with you?
Answering lots of questions (or having the owner answer lots of questions) so a customized nutritional plan can be created. This plan will be maximized for success by anticipating issues/concerns in advance and have a clear goal that both pet owner and veterinarian are aligned on.
Why do pet owners & pcDVMs continue to come back to seek your advice for their pet care needs?
Clear explanation – what we need to do and why we need to do it. Also flexibility – nutrition is an interactive process, and we will adjust as needed based on pet and owner changes.
What are the specific services or areas of expertise can you help pcDVMs with?
Recommending commercial dog/cat food for complicated medical conditions, developing weight loss plans, formulating homemade diets, creating assisted feeding and critical care feeding plans
What is your approach to teamwork and communication?
Open and honest dialogue is key – I try to provide a judgement-free zone for discussing the often “hot” topic of nutrition based on science
If you could only describe yourself with three words, which would you choose?
Dedicated, authentic, compassionate
Do you have a mantra or philosophy you that you live by?
Life just is… but sometimes it’s slippery.
